Why we’re here
Alberta’s children deserve better than the system currently manages.
Bespoke Guardians is a British children’s social care provider. We run five services and employ 235 people, and we’ve spent eight years looking after young people with complex needs, the ones other providers hand back.
We’re opening in Calgary because we believe we can help children here. But a care company is only ever as good as the people in it, so we’re starting with hiring, and doing it face to face rather than through a portal.
We’re not here to take jobs from Canadians. We’re here to create jobs for Canadians.
Every role we’re recruiting on the day is a job for someone already living and working in Alberta.

There’s no schedule to fit around. Briefings run on the hour, every hour, so you’ll never wait more than sixty minutes. And we’re open late for anyone who can’t get time off work.

Come when you can
Doors open at ten in the morning and we’re here until half past seven at night. Ten minutes or two hours, up to you. No appointment.
An honest description of the job
We’ll tell you what’s hard about this work as well as what’s good. Nobody makes a real decision from a brochure.
A proper conversation
Not a form and a handshake. Real time with the people who run our services, so you find out what the job is actually like before you commit to anything.
A straight answer, fast
We won’t leave you hanging for weeks. Every single person who comes to the open day hears back from us within 48 hours, one way or the other.
Who we’re looking for
You don’t need care experience. You need the right attitude.
We’ll train you for the job. What we can’t train is mentality: turning up when it’s hard, staying calm when a young person is at their worst, and not taking it personally. If you’ve got that, come and talk to us whatever you’re doing now.
Team Leader
Runs the shift and holds the standard. You’ll support the workers on the floor, make the call when something changes, and make sure nothing important gets missed.
Supervisor
Accountable for a service and the people in it: rotas, quality, safeguarding and developing your team. A step up for someone ready to lead.

No. Turn up whenever suits you between 10am and 7:30pm. Registering helps us plan staffing, but it isn’t required and you won’t be turned away.
Yes, that’s exactly why we’re open until 7:30pm. The evening session runs the same briefing and the same chance to talk to the team as the rest of the day.
No, and that’s on purpose. The open day is about meeting each other properly, not sitting a formal interview. You’ll get the briefing and a proper chat with our team, and you can ask us anything about the job. You’ll hear back from us within 48 hours either way, and formal interviews follow shortly after.
No. We’ll train you for the job. What we’re looking for is mentality: reliability, patience, and the sort of person who doesn’t walk away when a young person is testing whether you will. Plenty of our best people came from something completely different.
No care qualification. Working with children and youth isn’t a regulated profession in Alberta, so there’s no licence or diploma you must hold before you start, and we train you from day one. What you do need: to be 18 or over; a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (we’ll give you the employer letter you need to request it); a Child Intervention Record Check through Alberta Children’s Services; Standard First Aid and CPR Level C (we can help you get this); a valid Class 5 driver’s licence, as the role involves transporting young people; and two work references, one of them a former manager. Start the police check early, it’s usually about two weeks but can take longer if fingerprints are needed. Don’t let that stop you coming, turn up on the day and we’ll walk you through it.

The Ampersand Conference Centre, 112 4 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2P 0H3, East Tower. Come in through the main lobby on 4 Avenue, you’ll see our signs and someone from our team will be on the door. Parking: Harmony Parkade (Lot 40), 115 4 Ave SW, directly across the road with a covered +15 walkway into the building, $4 per half hour capped at $24 for the day, free after 4pm if you register your plate. On the CTrain, 1 Street SW station on 7 Avenue is closest, about a five-minute walk north.

You don’t have to book. But it helps if you do.
Walk-ins are genuinely welcome and you will not be turned away. Letting us know roughly when you’re coming just means we’ve got enough of our team free to talk to you when you arrive.
Bring three things: photo ID (driver’s licence or passport), any certifications or clearances you already hold, and your questions, the harder the better.
